余新镇外地务工人员多，以前，社区缺少婴幼儿照料、托育场所，也缺少邻里交流的平台。与此同时，镇里的老街、粮仓等空间资源也面临闲置。2022年，“未来社区”建设在当地推进，余新镇盘活资源，打造4600平方米活动空间，包含亲子小屋、居民活动室等便民服务场所。
